The Boys are REALLY looking forward to the release of their latest single, “The Country Hall Of Fame – Again.” The song is a tribute to country music legend Hank Locklin and his 1968 hit “The Country Hall Of Fame.” Ben Ingram, bass vocalist of the group, wrote the song in about forty minutes. As Ingram puts it, “…. It was just something that clicked in my head. I can remember like it was yesterday when my Dad first brought that album home. I was eleven, and I fell in love with that song. I occaisionally play the song on my radio show. And I was playing it one afternoon, and just kicked back – you know – taking a trip down memory lane. Thinking about Dad. And all of a sudden, it occurred to me how outdated this song was. Everybody that Hank was singing about in the song was gone. They were all dead. And, bless his heart, Hank is even gone now, too.”
The “wheels started turning,” as they say, and Ingram wrote the song that night as soon as he got home from the radio station. Ingram says he knew he had something special. “It brings Locklin’s song into the 21st century – kind of a ‘chapter two,’ if you will – and honors our music by singing about some of the folks we grew up listening to and idolizing, like Alabama, George Strait, the Statlers, the Oaks, Ronnie Milsap. And, thank God for giving me the inspiration. It just felt like the time was right.”
The single should be ready for release no later than April 1.
